I was at breakfast with a dozen friends yesterday after a motorcycle run.
Because of the political climate, conversation quickly turned to politics and gun control. A couple in the group began very vocally and emotionally expressing their ill-conceived opinions on the tiring old so-called ‘common sense’ gun laws debate.
You know. The typical limits on guns, the limits on magazine capacities and so-forth.
I kept completely quiet the entire conversation until their rants finally ran out of steam.
It was then I jibed in and asked them both, in a typical home invasion, what the average number of assailants was. Since neither knew as I assumed they wouldn’t, I then told them that the answer was three.
I then asked them how many bullets it was that they previously stated that they wanted guns limited to by law.
The table suddenly became dead silent for almost a full minute. When conversation slowly returned, the topic was no longer about gun control.
