In 2012, after several years of small, incremental government firearm laws past, Then Chavez initially ran a month-long firearm amnesty turn-in program.

After, more than 12,500 firearms were SEIZED by the government.

In 2014, a further 26,000 firearms were again confiscated with some crushed while the good ones were kept to give to the government-sponsored armed groups now directly oppressing those very law-abiding citizens who turned in their firearms to them in the first place.

The Venezuelan people, who just a decade earlier, were a nation awash in oil wealth, had the highest growth rate in the region, boundless educational opportunities, fine foods and with world-class beaches in what seemed like a mystical paradise where nothing could or would go wrong, until it did, are now suffering for the single mistake of giving up their ability to protect themselves from a socialist government.

The destruction of their country was NOT the sudden result of an armed overtake by the government, but rather it was the INSIDIOUS LIES THAT SLOWLY CREPT IN AND INFECTED THE COUNTRY.
