All police, whether good intentioned, well being’d, religious, self-aware, etc. know going into academy and then their respective duty locations that they will be commanded to perform illegal moves on a daily and continuous basis, right down to the now, not so lowly anymore traffic stop.

I’m not going into details here because that’s for another time and doesn’t fit into the parameters of this post.

If they refuse, which none do, they face a myriad of disciplinary actions from write-ups, permanent record notations, various forms of disciplinary actions, layoff, suspension and loss of job all the way possibly to contempt of court convictions. It is for that reason, regardless of how good that person is inside and out, they are all, and I repeat this, ALL, PART of the problem rather than the solution.

The entire police model is currently flawed and flawed big time and most of it has to basically do with the fact that the model is dealing with flawed and biased people who patrol their own kind. When I say flawed and biased, what I mean is that all of us, ALL of us, including you and I, are biased and flawed. Simply using humans to have the complete control they do, and believe me, the para-military police have some of the utmost control of power on the planet and way, way more than people realize, the model itself starts off right at the onset wrong.

I am not suggesting a solution because I have none. It’s an extremely difficult position. What I am suggesting however is that society begin to look at it beginning with that angle. Just start from there, but NO ONE has EVER suggested that out of fear for even simply bringing that issue up. I don’t fear it. I am promoting it.
